Thank you for taking
the time to visit the Greater Southington Chamber of
Commerce website. This site is averaging more than
130,000 hits per month and our advertisers know we are
always promoting this site for their benefit and the
benefit of viewers who may be looking for services from
our members.
October 2003 was the beginning of
a new era. I am pleased to state that our membership is steadily
climbing and we recently reached the 550-member plateau.
Since 2003, your Chamber of Commerce
has accomplished many good things that have helped our member
clients. We’ve partnered with the Town of Southington to promote and
market the economic amenities of this community. We’ve also
sponsored numerous networking events and grand openings. We’ve had
fun at the Annual Dinner and our prestigious golf tournament.
The Chamber of Commerce has used common
sense in our approach to assisting our members. Our members know
Southington is our only focus and our office is working daily to be
creative, helpful and articulate. As a visitor to this site, I

is a fast growing community of 42,000 residents with a wonderful
location 20 miles between Hartford and New Haven. With five exits of
Interstate 84, Southington has learned to grow with retail and
commercial while retaining its New England charm.
Our downtown business district is a
testimony to old fashioned beliefs that the heart of a community is
its downtown. Southington is a mix of the old and new; a blend of
young families and traditional ethnic families.
The Greater Southington Chamber of
Commerce was formed in 1938. Yet, times have changed and late in
2003, a new enthusiasm was rekindled and a mission was begun to earn
the Chamber a position of respectability and accountability.
